Jan and I own some property and a tiny, little cabin on Center Island. It's part of the San Juan Islands in Washington State and is so far north, we have to go south to get to Victoria, Canada! Center Island is pretty remote. You must take the ferry to Lopez Island, drive south seven miles to the dock. Park your car and take your own boat three miles to the island and then walk half a mile to our property. The island itself is only a mile across but it is simply magical.

The islands are called the "Banana Belt" of Washington because the weather is remarkably mild and sunny but once in a while it snows and when it does, it is so very beautiful.

We don't get there as often as we would like so this video is to remind us of our home in the far north.
