Aboard their beautiful sailboat, Santa Teresa, John and Jan sailed into San Diego Bay intending only to stop long enough to change a couple of fuel filters on their way to points beyond. Little did they know what adventures were waiting for them!

San Diego has become their home. Jan is the Development Director for the non-profit group, "Survivors of Torture International."

In the mid-1950s, while John was in kindergarten, his family helped build the Clairemont Church of Christ. While John's dad worked on the construction with the other men, John loaded up his little red wagon with nails and kept them supplied. The Pacific Beach and Clairemont congregations united in 1993 to form the Canyon View Church of Christ. Now John has returned to the pulpit and is preaching for them. "I feel like I've come home!"
